AMTC Launches All-New Customer Portal at my.amtc.com

Applied Media Technologies Corporation (AMTC), the nation's leader in on-hold messaging and developer of HoldDirect.com, the world's first Web-based delivery system for on-hold messaging, announced a dramatic re-imagining of its customer portal today. The new site, found at http://my.amtc.com, was launched this afternoon.

The new portal will replace both of AMTC's prior customer portals, HoldDirect.com and AMTCMessaging.com, and serve three generations of AMTC's proprietary digital players, including the iQueue II, iQueue III, iQueue 3.5, RemoteLink IP, Eos Eclipse, and Eos Horizon. Customers with accounts on either of these sites have already had their accounts transferred to the new site. HoldDirect.com will remain operational in a legacy capacity until June 1, 2010. AMTCMessaging.com has been folded into the new site.

The new site features a far simpler user interface consisting of easy-to-use icons and configurable options, and provides several new options for obtaining technical support. Customers can configure their music and messaging services, update billing information, and request new messaging production instantly using the portal. The site also adds the capability for Eos customers to create custom channels for themselves at no additional cost.

"The customer portal at my.amtc.com is an evolutionary change for our customers. Bringing all of this information into one location, where both customers and AMTC staff can work with it together, will greatly enhance the customer experience and streamline the way AMTC offers customer service. We're especially excited to retire HoldDirect.com after seven years of industry-leading service, and give our iQueue-generation customers a taste of the power and flexibility that AMTCMessaging.com users have had," enthused Matt Holden, AMTC's Senior Director of Technology.

Existing AMTC customers with any questions regarding the change are invited to contact technical support at (800) 741-2682, extension 8. Technical support is available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday.
AMTC Offers Eos In-store Background Music and Messaging to Church's Chicken Franchisees

Applied Media Technologies Corporation (AMTC) announced that it has been given the opportunity to reach out to Church's Chicken franchisees, to provide a specially-discounted package on Eos background music to its stores nationwide. Church's, an international brand with over $1 billion in sales per year, serves 3 million customers per week.

Eos, the lowest-cost business background music service on the market at $19.95 per month, features 65 channels of pure, uninterrupted business music, free of commercials, DJs and station IDs. No contract is required, and all music royalties are covered. AMTC distributes Eos under an agreement with Eos Music Corporation.

Along with background music, Eos will allow stores to insert AMTC-created Church's advertising messages between songs. "To me, that was the clincher," according to Tom Coppola, an AMTC Sales Manager, "Instead of music being just an overhead cost, Eos makes store music a sales tool." Coppola says, "Church's stores are enthusiastically embracing the concept. They're using the messaging to promote high-margin sides and desserts, along with things many customers aren't aware of, like catering."
AMTC Adds Omnidirectional Speaker to Line

Florida-based Applied Media Technologies Corporation, the industry-leading manufacturer of commercial sound equipment, has announced the addition of a new omnidirectional speaker model to its wide array of products.

The new speaker boasts a full-frequency, 6.5-inch driver housed in an attractive, sphere-shaped plastic enclosure with a dispersion cone, allowing for 360-degree sound distribution. This allows businesses to use a single omnidirectional speaker in place of several conventional recess-mount or surface-mount speakers, resulting in dramatically reduced hardware and installation costs. The speaker supports 8-ohm, 70V and 100V connections, and can be tapped as high as 30W for high-powered audio applications or as low as 3.3W for conventional background music use.

The speaker weighs just 5 pounds (2.2 kg) and can be mounted to hard or suspended ceilings securely and easily using the included steel cable assembly. It is available in black (model EQ-SPKOMB) and white (model EQ-SPKOMW) and retails for $149.99, easily making it the most economical commercial-grade omnidirectional speaker in the market.

"In today's economy, our customers are even more cost-conscious than ever. AMTC’s new 6.5" Omnidirectional Speakers gives us yet another way to deliver superior sound quality while cutting costs," expressed Matt Holden, AMTC’s Director of Product Development.

AMTC’s 6.5" Omnidirectional Speakers will be available in the first quarter of 2010.
AMTC President and CEO Quoted in Leading Lodging Publication

Clearwater, FL- Applied Media Technologies Corporation (AMTC) President and CEO Clayton Burton was interviewed for an article focusing on music in hotel outdoor space in the October 2009 issue of Hotel & Motel Management Magazine (http://www.hotelworldnetwork.com/music/subtle-or-bold-bring-music-outdoors). In the article, Burton emphasized the importance and cost-effectiveness of using music in hotel outdoor space. “If you’re trying to create an environment that will entice guests to spend time, music needs to be part of the design,” stated Burton, “Bang for your buck, it probably has more impact than anything else a hotel operator can do, especially when you’re only talking about $20 to $30 per month.” Burton also reiterated the heightened importance of hotel operators differentiating their properties in the current challenging lodging environment. “In the current market, if you can set your property apart for such a trivial cost, why wouldn’t you do it?”

The article showcased AMTC customer The Sagamore, a historic luxury resort located on Lake George in upstate New York. Sagamore Director of Information Technology Mony Demarco commented that he had reluctantly embraced the idea of outdoor music “I was out there on the fence because a lot of folks at a resort like tranquility and quiet, but all of the feedback has been positive. ”AMTC designed the outdoor sound using its EQ-SPKROK weather-resistant “rock” speakers, which look like granite boulders and blended in unobtrusively with the hotel’s landscaping. AMTC, which is the foremost expert in multi-zone satellite radio installations and signal distribution, provided four separate zones of SIRIUS Music for Business, and also installed speakers throughout the interior public space of the property.
AMTC President and CEO in Exclusive Interview on SatWaves Radio

Clearwater FL- Satwaves Radio hosted Clayton Burton, President and CEO of Applied Media Technologies Corporation, Wednesday Sept 23rd on Brandon Matthews’ Blog Talk Radio show. (Replay of show at: http://satwaves.com/blog/2009/09/24/ )
Burton and Matthews discussed the future growth prospects of the business music market and what Muzak’s bankruptcy could mean for those prospects. Burton explained that, in its heyday, Muzak boasted over 300,000 subscribers. This number has shrunken dramatically under pressure from higher-quality, lower cost, contract-free options such as AMTC’s Sirius Music for Your Business. AMTC has represented Sirius Satellite Radio for business customers since 2003, and has built a subscriber base in the tens of thousands. Burton expressed his belief that fears of Muzak customers about Muzak’s financial viability, along with heightened price-sensitivity due to current economic turmoil, will continue to drive market share from Muzak to AMTC. In addition, increased enforcement of copyright laws by the music industry is forcing businesses that have been playing music illegally to subscribe to a legitimate business music service, effectively expanding the market for AMTC’s services.
Brandon Matthews, the founder of Satwaves.com, worked in the financial industry with firms such as Morgan Stanley and American Express as a broker and analyst. Matthews currently provides news, information, and forward thinking on the satellite radio sector from a consumer and investment perspective, and has been quoted on shows such as Howard Stern. He can also be seen in the Sirius XM documentary: Stock Shock - The Movie!
Improved Reception, Coverage Area Announced for SIRIUS Music for Business

Applied Media Technologies Corporation (AMTC) has announced that Sirius XM, its national partner for business music, has announced two significant enhancements to their broadcast network, both of which will significantly improve reception and signal strength for businesses in certain parts of the United States and its territories.

In September, Sirius XM successfully activated FM-5, its newest and most powerful satellite. FM-5 is in a geostationary orbit, unlike the high elliptical orbit of the other three satellites in Sirius' active constellation. The special orbital characteristics of the three existing satellites eliminate reception issues caused by inclement weather. However, the signal was occasionally weakened in areas where tall obstacles surround the receiver's antenna, such as heavily urban areas and in mountainous terrain, at certain times of day as the satellite's line-of-sight became obscured. Because FM-5 does not move in the sky, stationary antennas will receive a consistently stronger signal level throughout the entire day. Coupled with Sirius' ever-expanding network of ground-level repeaters, business subscribers nationwide will experience clearer and more reliable service than ever before.

FM-5 is also capable of broadcasting to previously unreachable areas through the use of "spot beam" technology. Spot beams direct a concentrated beam of signal at a relatively small geographic area, allowing the signal to travel further at higher strength. As a result, businesses in Alaska and Hawaii will now be able to receive the Sirius Music for Business signal from the FM-5 satellite. Sirius is also in the process of installing terrestrial repeaters in major population centers in these two states to further augment signal.

Additionally, Sirius has announced that its network of terrestrial repeaters will soon be expanded to include twenty new devices which, once activated, will cover the entire United States territory of Puerto Rico. For the first time, businesses on the island territory will be able to enjoy Sirius Music for Business, at the same $29.95 price. Terrestrial repeaters receive the Sirius signal, amplify it by several times, and re-broadcast it at ground level, ensuring blanket coverage of the surrounding area.

"With the successful deployment of FM-5 and the recent FCC approval for repeaters in Puerto Rico, AMTC will be able to offer Sirius Music for Business to thousands of new businesses at higher quality than ever before. We are elated that these augmentations, both several years in the making, are now a reality. AMTC looks forward to helping business owners in Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico to 'get SIRIUS' about cutting the cost and improving the quality of their background music," said Greg Powell, AMTC's Sales Manager.
AMTC Revolutionizes Messaging with RemoteLink IP

Applied Media Technologies Corporation (AMTC), the industry’s leading provider of in-store and telephone on-hold messaging, has introduced its new RemoteLink IP digital messaging player. The Internet-enabled player gives retail stores, hotels, automotive dealerships, restaurants, and other businesses of any size the freedom to deploy professional-quality messaging for less than $5.00 per month.

The RemoteLink IP retails for $299, and is covered by a full three-year advance replacement warranty. It has no moving parts, so there's nothing to wear out or break. The player simply connects to an Ethernet router – there is no PC and no complex installation required. All traffic is transmitted via TCP/IP port 80, so the device will operate normally even in firewalled corporate environments.

A Web console, located at AMTCmessaging.com, allows customers to remotely control the messaging and player settings at an unlimited number of business locations worldwide, right from their desktops. Changes may be made to the messaging at a single business location, all locations at once, or subgroups of locations based on standard variables (city, state, etc.) or as many as 12 customer-defined variables. Programming changes and new messages are automatically downloaded on a periodic basis, typically nightly, from AMTC's central servers.

The RemoteLink IP features dual outputs, allowing one device to provide separate messaging for different uses, such as in-store and telephone on-hold messaging. Messaging can be “dayparted”, allowing different messages to play during different segments of the day. The player may be used in a stand-alone fashion or in conjunction with an external background music source, such as AMTC's Sirius Music for Business, periodically fading the background music and inserting messages at a customer-defined interval.

Managing messaging at large numbers of geographically-dispersed business locations traditionally required duplication, packaging and distribution of physical media such as tapes or CDs. The cost of such efforts made it impractical to use messaging for anything more than relatively static, informational messaging. Messaging tied to time-sensitive topics such as sales events was out of the question. In 1998 AMTC attempted to address these limitations by introducing the RemoteLink td64, a player remotely-controlled via telephone line. The device could be installed using built-in "fax sharing", a less-than-reliable technology, or on a dedicated line, which added a significant recurring cost. Because of these drawbacks, telephone download players met with limited success industry-wide, and AMTC discontinued the RemoteLink td64 in 2007.

"Centralized control is of such clear benefit to our customers, but telephone-download technology was problematic. Internet-based distribution was an obvious solution. We developed the initial specification for the RemoteLink IP back in 2001, but we weren't sure how quickly business adoption of broadband Internet would reach critical mass, so we delayed full-blown development until about two years ago. The market is now ready for this product, and it’s going to be a game-changer. For the first time, multi-location customers will be able to aggressively use messaging to drive sales, without being limited by technology, and at less than $5 a month, it’s affordable for any-sized business," enthused Matt Holden, AMTC's Director of Product Development.
